Furry Central Station

My fursona is a pegasus / horse. He has chestnut fur as bright and burning as coals in a working forge. A cream blaze splits his face, straight through to his wild, blond mane. His wings look as though they were painted into our world, his feathers glide through the air like oil on a canvas. In different seasons, he molts into various tropical dress; most often, his wings are layers of red, green, blue, and yellow. Sometimes, they are not there at all.

He lives in several realities. In one, he is a carousel pony who dreams of free air. In another, he is a noble prince of a magical pegasus kingdom. In ours, he is an avatar through which I interact with the furry internet. I find it difficult to attach myself to one particular, copyrightable version of a character in the way many modern furs do, and so he is necessarily ephemeral.

I find the contemporary landscape of furry literature rather disappointing. It's a money problem: there's no money in mainstream publishing, I do not begrudge our remaining open publishing houses for prioritizing nudey werewolf calendars and $30 erotic comics. I, however, would like to recapture the magic of the early furry's writing world. Check back for updates on a developing fanzine project. I am mostly on the search for fellow writers, as well as traditional artists. GPT-dweebs, go have a robot fuck your wife.

I am drawn to the themed and collaborative styles of old fanzines. I also think a stronger artistic direction and editorial vision would help the aesthetic and storytelling cohesion of my project. Circulation via snail mail, to contributors, friends, and fans, is infinitely more interesting to me than any material market appeal that I might find via itch.io.
